A warm welcome is extended to each of you as we gather to worship today. If needed, sound enhancement is available (please ask an usher for assistance). A nursery with piped in sound is located adjacent to the sanctuary and you are welcome to use this facility. If you are a newcomer and would like to be contacted by someone from KUC please fill in the pew card provided in the holder on the back of the chairs in the Sanctuary. You may place your completed card on the offering plate.

Rev. Bruce Comrie is away from KUC and will be returning on April 8th.

FOOD BANK REMINDER

The Kamloops Food Bank is experiencing a particular shortage of food following the abundant Christmas season. Next Sunday is Communion Sunday, the day that we ask the congregation to bring in donations of canned and dried goods for the Food Bank. Your support is appreciated by those in need in our community. Thank you.

WOW !

The Holy Week recitals not only provided a gentle noon hour respite throughout the week but also generated $1021.42 for the general fund of our congregation. Amazing, especially considering this event was not created as, nor developed to be a fund raiser.

So very many fine people to thank…the intrepid bun makers, the kitchen crews, the table setters, the cleaner-uppers, the publicity gang, the laundry elves, the instrumentalists, and the appreciative audiences.

A sincere thank you to all and may Easter blessings abound.

Marg, Music Animator

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Out of the Cold program, for the homeless, currently operating on Wednesday nights at St. Paul's Cathedral, will end on Wed. March 26th.  KUC's Downtown Ministry Group is contemplating the possibility of hosting one night a week next winter, or alternately gathering a group of volunteers to augment St. Vincent de Paul's volunteers at the Anglican Cathedral whenever possible.  To determine the feasibility of either of these options, it is important that as many people as possible are informed about the needs and logistics of the program through first hand experience.  If you are able to volunteer for this Wed. nights shifts (9pm-12, 12-6am, or 6-8:30am), please call Mabel Nordick at 376-4161.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

The International Choral Festival, hosted by the Folk of Note and featuring seven choirs from the USA and BC, will present a night of song, Saturday, April 5th at 7:00 pm, at Calvary Community Church. Celebrate this opportunity to hear two all-male choirs, four mixed choirs, and your own Folk of Note led by our inspired Marg Waldon. Tickets are available from choir members as well as from the church office. Adults $10.00, Youth to 16 yrs. $5.00, Family $30.00 (immediate family).

Baptism, Renewal of Baptismal Faith and Transfer of Membership on April 27

The Sacrament of Baptism, the Renewal of Baptismal Faith (Confirmation) and Transfers of Membership will be offered at K.U.C. on Sunday April 27th.

It is through baptism and the renewal of baptismal faith that children, youth or adults may become members of the United Church of Canada and the congregation of K.U.C. Prior to April 27th, we will be holding one or more sessions (depending on response) to explore the meaning of church membership and the sacrament of baptism and the rite of renewal. Session date(s) will depend on the availability of participants. If you are already a member of another United Church and would like to transfer your membership

to K.U.C. we will be receiving new members on April 27th as well.

If you are interested in baptism, renewal of faith or transfer of membership please contact Rev. Bruce Comrie by April 8.

MEET YOUR NEIGHBOURS

Have you ever wondered which area of Kamloops your fellow KUC members live? Maybe some of them have recently moved to your neighbourhood. Stay for coffee and goodies after church on April 13th and "meet your neighbour". See you there, neighbour!

CAN YOU SPARE SOME TIME?

We are currently experiencing a "receptionist" shortage at KUC. We are looking for someone who would be thrilled to come in on Friday’s to be our greeter receptionist.

The time requirement is four hours between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. If you are able to help out please contact Daphne Styles after worship or phone her at 374-3864. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
