Children's Books News FROM THE LIBRARY May 2005 Your KUC Library group has had a busy and productive year. We are given an annual budget but avail ourselves of different ways to augment that budget and indeed to repay a large part of it. Last November we held a book and cookie sale that profited us with over $300.00 which was turned back in to Church revenue. We hope to do another book and cookie sale this year but will make it earlier, perhaps in September. Please save your books! This spring Irene Covington gifted us with $300.00 from sales of her pins. Irene has been a longtime friend of the KUC Library and we so appreciate her love and consideration. We frequently put out donated books for sale on Sunday mornings and this source of petty cash helps to purchase library supplies. There have been many new books added to the library this year. We try our best to have a wonderful variety for both adult and juvenile readers. We welcome requests from congregation, clergy, group leaders and so on. As with the public library we do have the ongoing issue of overdue books. There is no set time for returning books, (we like our readers to have time to connect with a good book ), however when more than a month goes by we feel it is only fair to expect that books will be returned. Some of our books are gone for six months to a year and some never find their way home! It does give us real joy though, to see that the books are going out and we encourage borrowing not only on Sunday mornings but during the week as well when the library key is available from Sharon in the office.

News From The Library Your KUC Librarians have been busy this year buying new books for your reading pleasure, updating the library bookshelves, raising funds to offset our budget and buy library supplies. Irene Covington has been most generous and gifted us with proceeds from her fabulous pins earlier this year. We had a Book & Cookie sale in November that raised $338.00 for KUC general revenue. Currently we have purchased a wonderful new collection of children's Christmas books along with many others to add to all the new books collected this year. The library is in the Lay Ministry Office and can be accessed through the week. On Sunday mornings we put out a book display in the fellowship hall. In addition to all the new books purchased throughout the year we have recently added several books specially for the Christmas season, plus several others. New book for the Children
