Stewardship is:

  • Stewardship is generously using our resources of time, skills and finances to maintain and empower the Christian message of love, justice and peace
  • Stewardship is what I do with everything I have, because it is all a gift from God
  • Stewardship is living in gratitude and generosity, as ways to love God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love my neighbour as myself.
  • Stewardship is how we use our time, our skill and our financial resources after we say “I believe”
  • Stewardship within the United Church is the sharing of each members’ time, talent and a responsibility of financially assisting the mission of the church.
(With thanks to the United Church of Canada for their input)

The Stewardship Ministry supports the mission of Kamloops United Church through education and effective programs for fostering generosity of time, talent and money within our church.

In the spring of 2009, Council Circle brought together a few members of the congregation to improve the financial status of the congregation. Since then, we have run a successful stewardship campaign (Celebrate Stewardship) and hosted Jane Harding who presented two seminars in the fall of 2009 on Planned Giving. We have reinstituted “Stewardship Corner” in The Link each week. Throughout 2010, “The Year of Gratitude and Generosity”, we are offering an ongoing stewardship education program.
